When guys say something is cringe, they're projecting their social anxiety. Anything that is remotely risky is "cringey." They could never cold approach or put themselves in a risky situation, so they make everyone else look weird if they try. Part of being a sexual man is knowing that you could potentially be creepy/awkward and doing it anyways.
