Hi everyone.

I'm a second year at my university. I went to a frat event, and I ended up getting invited to a party. This is the first actual "college party" that I've been invited to, the one that has alcohol and everything. I just left the party right now (ended up getting shut down due to security), and I'm doing some reflection on it.

Anyway, I have a few issues and questions that maybe you guys can help out with for future reference. I enjoyed myself, but I'd like to do better next time. Thanks. Also please note that this was all done 100% sober, so that made things more difficult for me.

  1. What are some approaches that you've found works best in this type of scenario?
  2. Approach anxiety, for the most part, isn't an issue for me. Here's the issue I do have: asking for contact information. I can approach and hold a conversation for a short while with a single woman or with multiple women at the same time just fine. However, I never know when to ask for contact info so it's not weird. Let me give an example. I approached a group of three women, saying "you enjoying ourselves?" They all nodded and smiled. One of the women had her arms crossed and kind of looked stand-offish, so I jokingly told her "You look angry. Did somebody piss in your cup?". All the girls including stand-offish girl laughed and stand-offish girl says "oh my goddddd you're so funny" (they were very drunk, as you might imagine). I introduce myself and then, for some reason, I cock block myself and say "well nice meeting you, hope you girls have a good night". Should I have asked for the number? When's the best time to do so? How do I get over my fear of asking for numbers?
  3. What are some lines, phrases, catchphrases, tricks, whatever that you've used that go over well with women?
  4. What are your thoughts on simply going up to women at parties, saying something like "you're enjoying yourself?", conversing for a minute, then asking for #?
  5. How soon should I get physical with women? I'm referring specifically to touching them by the arms, shoulders, hands etc.
