So very recently I got a job at my best friend's dad's new restaurant and long story short I love the fuck out of it! I also work alongside a few other friends and met some more friends of friends who I hit it off well with. I've always known I thrive when im alongside friends and when I have something to connect with with someone new. So naturally I try and talk to the girls that catch my interest. It's really as simple as introducing myself to them and just talking to them, asking them questions about whatever while throwing in eye contact and other forms of light flirting. There were two girls that got my attention and the first one im a little less invested in cause she didn't show any signs of reciprocating that I noticed. Other girl who I also happened to be more interested in was like a slightly more quirky version of myself which I loved. I talked to her a bit and she gave me stupid strong eye contact and smiling a lot of the time we were talking. I also did a few playful touches but I don't think she reciprocated. So while driving home with my best friend I tell him about these two who he's been friends with for a while and he strongly advices me to avoid wasting my time with them because the first girl is like really into school which I also found out. I didn't really take this with much seriousness. The second girl who im more into he said that she has been leaving any form of dating out of her life and wants nothing to do with it. And apparently many guys have tried only to fail. I don't know if I should take these warnings seriously or not because as of right now I don't get enough chances to meet more girls. I told him that I don't get attached very much (I don't) and I wouldn't break my balls trying to pursue them but it'd keep an eye out to the idea while maintaining the connections I seemingly made. After getting home I start to realize I actually am getting somewhat attached, which i know to avoid like crazy. What I think the cause is that I lack an abundance of options so when I see opportunities I capitalize on it. Here I am this morning and I have no way of getting to work today so im stuck at home where I don't get to be social unless a friend is available to hangout. And god damn I feel like shit. This summer has been boring as shit and whenever I can't be social (not with girls but in general) I get really depressed and I resort to video games and youtube to pass the day which I enjoy but its not a good substitute. "So the answer is pretty obvious isn't it"?I think to myself. What I need to do is find a hobby that allows me to be social (preferably where I can also meet girls). Or I can do some good ol approaching. As I said im a social badass when im in a comfortable environment but if im talking to complete strangers I sometimes am nervous or just really mediocre compared to my full potential which takes me a long time to reach with someone or a group of people. Recently I went to a concert with my brother and his friend which albeit was kinda fun and I made it a big goal to be social as shit and approach girls. I kept feeling really shitty and I was making dumb excuses like "ohh there's a group of girls and I only want to approach one". The girls at the venue are also not at all what I'd go for. (Lots were smoking and stuff) But that's still just an excuse. I was running on 4 hours sleep and got off of work at my old job at the time so I felt really exhausted. Also got no good vibes from my brother or friend to feed off of. But I was kinda mad at myself for that. I also have a rough time getting social opportunities because I can't drive until October. I'm 18 btw. So im limited to getting rides from friends or walking a fat ass distance. Overall i've really been trying to work on bettering myself and be self-aware. Im very confident ill find success down the road but right now im just at a slight bump. Sorry if this was a giant ramble but I just wanted to share my recent thoughts. If you have any suggestions or comments i'd love to hear them! Also I really suck at formatting so sorry about that.
