Told her the truth, I wasnt in the right mindset for a relationship. I broke my own heart doing so I feel. She seemed understanding and willing to go for it.

You're leaving out quite a lot here.

What exactly did you say?
How exactly did she react? Body language and words, etc.?
What boundaries did you establish for what you're doing with her?

You have to sort out what's going on because it could be all inside your own head, or it could involve her own reaction and the fact that things have changed.

But regardless, if you KNEW you didn't want anything serious with her, then you didn't "lose" anything.

You were the one who said:

You WANTED to meet up with, and presumably have sex with, other girls, even after you had met this one.

So it's not like she was The One, or anything like that. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been so up for seeing other girls.

The more likely situation is that you're just not used to dating people casually. Perhaps you're even discovering that you really want a serious thing, more than serial casual dating.

Regardless, you didn't lose anything, because any way you look at it, this girl wasn't someone you wanted to date seriously, based on your reactions to her. She sounds nice and sweet and physical stuff with her might be fun, but this is NOT the same damn thing.

Of course it was the right thing to do. It's just a bit uncomfortable because it's not usually thing the sort of thing most people do, and you do risk rejection by suggesting it.

And that's FINE. Not everyone is going to go for it. But by being honest, you're actually being good about this, by not leading someone on, to think that you want something you actually don't.
