I never liked to stray away from generic questions since they're typically good ice-breakers anyway. Add your own flair to things. I got really fascinated by different accents, so when I approached women I'd try to guess where they're from based on their accent just bc it was something that amused me. I guess it sort of became a game bc they would then guess where I was from, and then you can use that momentum as a springboard since knowing where someone is from can open up so many different topics.

I think you need to be flirty. Tell them how beautiful they look. Maybe their necklace is really nice. You can even grab it to be more touchy.
