I can make friends very easily. All humility aide I think I have the emotional intelligence to make nearly everyone I meet and talk to feeling good about talking to me, laughing at what I have to say.... But after getting to know me and my laissez faire attitude towards defending myself, and my tendency to self deprecate for humor, I feel they don't respect me or take me seriously. This one girl at work started working after a year break from our company, and I knew she had a huge crush on me because a fellow co-worker told me as such ( they're good friends). We go on two little hiking around the park dates, I don't escalate at all (100% my fault for being a pussy and this is likely why she's changed her opinion on me), and although she continuously wants to talk to me at work afterwards I sense a different attitude towards me.

She'll call me an idiot when I make a mistake, will insult me in front of others, say stuff like " you won't have the balls" when I half seriously say I'll do something tantalizing....Shell bug me at work, try tripping me playfully, kino me by punching my arm when I say something outrageous, but I feel that mystique I gave off earlier has completely dissipated and she doesn't take me seriously any more.

I'm not trying to get advice on how to win her over because I'm just about ready to give up on her and move on, but I guess what I'm asking is how do I move on from being a people pleasing little BITCH who develops friendships and interest from others at the expense of respect. I know I'm the one to blame, but how do I go about fixing this? Thank you.
