(For context, I’m a 17 year old Asian American male in high school)

So yesterday I messaged this cute but random Asian-Australian girl I saw on Facebook. She was in my “friends you may know” list and I decided to shoot her a friend request since hey, what’s the harm?

Anyway, I shot her a message and basically said that I think it’s cool that she lives in Australia. We messaged for a bit and she said that she’d love to be my friend (which I’m cool with) and etc. But then she sent me a picture of herself and then asked if we can call. I was a bit taken aback since why would anyone, much less her (a stranger from Australia) want to call and chat with me?

So I did some thinking since I didn’t wanna get catfished, but I decided “you know what? Fuck it. Worse case scenario, it goes bad and we never talk again. Plus, she’s in Australia, so what could go wrong”.

Basically we called and it went pretty well actually. Like I was genuinely surprised it went that well. We talked for a bit before deciding to video chat and she was actually pretty chill and stuff. We kind of started getting to know each other and stuff but we had to end the call since she had chores to do. I texted her saying “Hey if you’re not too busy and stuff what with your family and everything, tbh I wouldn’t mind calling if or whenever you want lol”.

So....what does this mean? Is this an indication of anything? What should I do now?

(Also, I think this girl is really cute and everything but I’m fine if she only wants to be friends. Nothing against that. At the very least, hey, I at least have one international friend :) )
