Hey guys, this question is not entirely TRP-related but I've been reading TRP for some months now and this seems like the best place to get advice. I'm 22 years old and from The Netherlands and I finally finished high school (long story). I have a hard time choosing between going for a physics degree or an electrical engineering degree. My wish is to work abroad eventually (preferable SE Asia because my dad works there as an expat), I'm not entirely sure whether I want to work for a multinational company or go into teaching, preferably at a college or university. While I haven't made a decision yet I like to believe that Electrical Engineering is the better choice because of better job prospects and the possibility of teaching but at times I still think physics would be a better choice. If I go for physics I can stay in my hometown while when I go for EE I will have to move to the other side of the country, I don't want this to influence my decision. Are any of you familiar with these fields (and the differences in job prospects), which degree will give me better chances for an expat job and do any of you know if an engineering PhD can become a math or physics lecturer? Thanks.
