This is obviously more useful a tool than just talking to women, but basically the only time argument is useful is if your intention at the outset of a conservation is to have that argument.

If you have any desire to deepen a connection with someone, arguments are a great way to block that. How do you get out of an argument or prevent one from happening?

  1. Slow down. Set a delayed fuse on every response coming from you until the pace of the conversation stops rushing.

  2. Get to feelings, tone of voice, physical responses. E.g. "I can't believe you like Donald Trump. He's such a narcissistic self-centered..." vs. "I'm noticing how much resistance I have to the Trump thing. My chest just tightened up." or "I noticed your face just tightened and your tone felt dismissive. Tell me about that."

  3. Don't assume you know their experience/intention. Ask for clarity.

This is why they always say to avoid politics, religion, and sports on date conversations. Again, unless you can probe the feelings on each of those things.

You may be blown away at much more more connection comes out.
