Don't think of it as a "crush". That shows innocence and goodness. Think of it like oneitis which puts it more as a debilitating illness, which is what it is. Oneitis makes you lose your frame, alpha, and masculinity. If you get it for someone you're not in an LTR with then the best advice is to just move on. Easier to let oneitis fade than to let it live on.

Hey so this girl in my college class is pretty hot im always staring at her, and i think she caught me a few times.

Well that's not good. If a woman catches you staring at her, then not responding well (ie, not immediately approaching her and initiating) makes you look cowardly and very beta. The image is that you crave her because you lack options and being caught scares you because you're not masculine or stoic.

So this has gone on and on all semester (4 months) and we've never spoken a word but I still am sending her signals that I want to give her the D.

No, no signals are being received. Back away and move on. You blew it 4 months ago when you first got approach anxiety.

So my question is how do I be man enough to walk up to her after class and ask for her number or ask her out?

With her in particular? You don't. Get her out of her life. With the next chick? By lifting, working hard on self improvement, studying, expanding your horizons and social circles, and thereby gaining the confidence to do it. A man in position to approach women wouldn't care what those women think of him. You're not ready. Focus on self improvement now and PUA later. From the sound of it, it'll take you six months to a year to really get the TRP experience.
