It always gets me when someone asks for a number and it turns into a serious thing. Why? You can usually either see the guy sweating or the look of disbelief on his face that this is actually happening. Then look to see the reluctance on her face when giving out her number.

It should be fun! If she's not smiling and literally pulling your phone out of your hand to plug that number in you can usually look forward to being ghosted or having to pull teeth for the date if you make it that far.

You're supposed to be having fun. That's what everyone wants. That's the reason she's going to call and answer your text. The best time to get a number is when you're both laughing and to be honest I can't think of any other time you would want to.
