Hey guys,
We are continuing with our practical series.A lot of you tell me that you suffer from social anxiety, or you have difficulty meeting new people. Therefore, you stay in your comfort zone, and you still hang out with toxic or harmful people I thought that this would help you the most since I notice you guys need to learn how to let go. To let go of people, of the past or negative feelings, You must let go of them to start experiencing growth.
Top 5 Reasons to start letting go
1-Nobody cares about your past
Once you go into a nightclub, nobody cares about who you are. What they care about is who you are in the present. I vividly remember a girl who thought I had been freezing in high school. However, this was not the case at all. I was a regular guy. Despite this, in her eyes, I was dressed like a promoter(skinny outfit) she assumed I was part of the in-crowd.
I tried to convince her otherwise, but to no avail, she had made up her mind. I didn't refuse her frame, but we continued talking. Girls make judgment value very fast, and once they make up their mind of who you are, that's it. That's why even if you are a hardcore nerd, you can pass as someone cool if you start looking and behaving like a calm person.
2-You're past should not be a reflection as to how you act today
Imagine you used to play video games every day after school and had no friends. Well, this was the case of my college roommate; he used to be called the wall-crawler. Despite this, he was still able to build a new identity once he arrived at college. If he can do it, so can you!
You are the one who is in control of your life identity. Other people barely know anything about it or you in general. If you communicate through your behavior and speech that you are the man, then people will accept this frame. Most people will assume that you are how you act. If you act confident, then people will say you are optimistic. If you talk decisively, they will tell you are determined. Every day, with the new people you are meeting, you create your reality.
3- Most of the people who you admired as cool became less cool with age(while the opposite might be the case with you)
I remember a lot of people who I thought were cool in high school and college. I thought, "Damn! I'll never catch up to these guys." I couldn't have been more wrong. Nowadays, those guys have one girlfriend, and that's it. They live their life close to what society tells them and don't want to move past that.
In contrast, I see myself and a few guys who are actively trying to improve our lives and hustling it day in and out. Every day we are becoming much cooler and much more accomplished that all of these people. We are creating our meeting people, taking professional pictures, traveling, getting fit, and, most importantly, dating multiple girls at the same time. It's up to you!
4-Most of the people who you think are popular or inaccessible are NOT
Your mind is your own worst enemy since you are creating this fake reality where those people are cool, and you are not. I remember all the cool kids in my college used to play beer pong. I thought they would be massive douchebags. However, instead of going to their parties, I decided to start my beer pong party and invite them to hang out. What I discovered is that most of them were quite open-minded and down to hang out.
The same way you can approach at the nightclub, most of the people who work there and have tables can become approachable and friendly. I will write about this in the future. Once you learn a bit more. You can have access to most of these people, and they will be receptive to you. You must start by changing your inner beliefs and then make the leap forward.
5-It's much better to cut ties and find new friends
Cutting ties is a harsh reality of life, but you must do it. For instance, I remember I delete all my classmates from high school, and I have little to no contact with my college buddies. You might think that they hold resentment towards me, or there's bad blood between us. The opposite happened. Most of them are always liking my public Instagram pictures. They admire me since I'm getting ahead in life and wanting to improve my situation. In contrast, I bet you want to be part of what they have as opposed to starting something new. Ever since I left high school and college, I made tons of new friends and created multiple social circles for myself, and you can do the same too!
Conclusion
Anyway, guys, this is the first part of our series about letting go of the past. The second part will be about letting go of rejection and how that once you start letting go of the pain you suffer when you get rejected, you became numb to it, and you only focus on the victories.
