You sound Like Best friend material. Every girl is different although, they all love attention. For a shy person she seems pretty forward to ask IF you have crush on her.. I do know lots of shy girls, this does not seem very shy. But it is a good excuse to turn you down. She was interested to talk with you, that does not mean she was interested the samé way as you were, meaning dating you or else. Ofcourse, Girls are complicated and you can never be sure about things but for now it seems you are available text buddy.
