TLDR; Male, Early 20's. Finally ready to cut ties with beta high school friends and start enjoying my life. How do I do this?
I still have the main group of friends I've had since high school; they can all easily be classed as losers; I was/am a loser by association, I stuck with this group because it was easy, I think I clung to them because I could be a leader without any effort.
This group is made up of people with no ambition, low intelligence or not living up to potential, who are not outgoing and live boring lives.
It's meant that I've missed out on parties, experiences, travels etc that others my age have enjoyed. Not completely but I've missed out on a lot.
My 'friends' don't encourage me to be the best I can be, they weigh me down, drag me down and stop me enjoying life.
I'm fed up. I want to change. I am changing.
Q: Do I cut ties completely and go lone wolf/mgtow/monk mode for a while? Or do I use this group while I find a way of jumping ship/up the social ladder? How do I find a new group of friends in my early 20's?
