How about a more comprehensive version of this that includes things like "people killed, including women" and articles with a woman only focus that disregard stats that indicate numbers are worse for men, etc.

I would've thought that's exactly what we *don't* want to do? If somebody (man or woman) gets assaulted, I want to focus all my thoughts on the victim, because that's who I care about.
