I have been through this non sense ever since I separated from wife at the time over 13 years ago. It all started with random Police calls with bogus claims. I have never been charged or arrested with anything. These days, I just refuse to talk to the Police. I just ask them if I'm under arrest or being detained and then promptly end the conversation.
Children protection agencies have been involved as well. Courts have been involved as well, over 6 years of it. First time I was taken to court, 2nd time, I went to court. Both times, I've come out on top in the sense that first time, I got regular schedule with my daughter, and 2nd time, I came out with 50/50. Both times, I found and hired the best lawyer I could find.
Now, 3rd time, after I didn't get to see my now teenage daughter for just over 6 months (here and there visits only) I got my lawyer involved again, and just some mediation and I am reconnecting with my daughter again, gradually moving back into the 50/50 arrangement.
Now, all of this has been absolutely traumatic to me and wrecked me. I have been able to main good jobs and been going to University. I know I'm probably answering my question here, but my out has been with friends, playing soccer, or going to the gym, but I feel like, something still needs to happen for me and things to go back to normal.
I will add, one thing that does set me back, is anytime I respond to a message from ex. I know I have to at times as to never giving her anything to throw at me, but feels toxic. I have started to keep things very short and to the point. Reply with as little as words as necessary. Nothing like this post, more like 1 to 3 words usually.
So, how do you all do it, how do you make all this brain foggy stuff go away. I don't do drugs or alcohol, and find coffee can trigger memories and get my mind racing.
I haven't had to pay child support since I went back to court the 2nd time, thanks to my phenomenal lawyer, so I probably shouldn't use the word injustice in that sense, but in the sense that why do we have to go through such battles to get justice. Most importantly, how do we recover from what we had to go through? As an ideology, some of our parents were in wars, rockets and fighter jets flying over their heads with sirens going, some of that going on now in some parts of the world, and sure, in some cases, the wars ended, but the experiences stay with them for life.
I've tried filing complains and such, but didn't help. I want nothing to do with any of these agencies or the courts no matter the circumstance.
