Rather than being a pervasive culture and sexual harassment, I would suggest that it is simply a reflection of the biology of the male sex drive and how society has frustrated and not facilitated its expression in less damaging ways.

At its heart is the concept that men aren't owed sexual expression, but should be constrained according to the wants of another gender, without any reverse constraints.

This isn't about men being permitted to rape, but being facilitated in "societally safer" expression of their biology instead of that biology being enslaved to another's wishes.

Pursuit of that biology has now become a crime of sexual harassment, when harassment should be reserved for persistence in the face of rejection: now simply approaching a woman for the first time is considered harassment if she isn't interested.

Furthermore, society insists on pushing men and women together in circumstances where male biology is incited by the presence of those women and yet is frustrated. Men aren't even able to approach women without being classed immediately as criminals.

Does society not recognise that a situation is being created where the natural biological drive of men is being progressively constrained in its expression in healthy ways and inevitably will lead to increasing expression in unhealthy ways? Just because one gender does not like mens biological nature does not mean that nature just stops without any consequence.

Yet the article is about the impact on women having few places to turn to for support, when management have deliberately placed them into a situation of no escape from mens natural biology, when it is fundamentally about inciting mens biology and then deliberately frustrating it whilst not facilitating other less damaging methods of satisfying that biological drive.

Women don't have to pursue sexual expression, they only have to say they are interested and they will have a queue of men lining up, whereas men actually have to pursue (harass) women to even have a chance of sexual expression: there isn't a queue of women just waiting for any man to say they would like sex. It's an incredibly unequal situation and yet men are told to "keep it in their pants" as though it is no big deal: it isn't a big deal for women because they aren't being constrained in their sexual expression by men.

Society needs to focus on a win-win outcome for both men and women: men and women both get to express their biological sexual drives equally according to their individual desires; men and women both get to choose who, when, how of sexual expression; harassment is only a thing if pursued beyond the first rejection; how that outcome is achieved is the $64k question that has so far not even been addressed in lieu of protecting women from any discomfort.

I'm permanently disabled due largely in part to sexual harassment in customer service. I've had to quit jobs and relocate several times because of this even with full support from teammates and management.
