Do you expect to get your wide wooden hanger back with your suit?

I had four items pressed at a dry cleaner, including suit and pants of a fully canvased Caruso suit with a 2" wide wooden Saks Fifth Avenue hanger. When I got it all back, it just had a wire hanger, and they said I should have been told not to leave the cloths on good hangers. Am I expecting too much to expect to have gotten the hanger back? My first thought is this shouldn't have been an issue, especially for just getting the stuff pressed.
