This is my second semester at college and I've been getting involved in lots of social activities. I haven't had a ton of social interaction in the past but I'm just trying different stuff to see what does and doesn't work as well. I've heard that girls these days are going to college at higher rates and men are going less, and I definitely have noticed this at my college haha.

The thing that I've started doing that has brought me the biggest results is reflective listening (not paraphrasing what they said in your own words, but repeating back to them either exact phrases or words that they gave to me.) By repeating THEIR OWN words, they get a sense that you're actually listening to me. This has worked surprisingly well for me so far and I find it really fun because people are more interested in telling me more now.

I've been told that girls LOVE to argue (playfully), and I've seen it demonstrated in front of me before. But for me, I'm not very good at finding things to argue about with a girl. Whenever I try to initiate an argument they aren't really drawn into going further into it. It doesn't ruin the interaction at all, just doesn't do anything at all really.
