I always love telling the story when I was in 6th grade that I was a pretty big outsider because I was nerdy, short, and ugly. Made friends with a new girl at the beginning of the year because she was ostracized by all the girls that had been friends since kindergarten.

She kept asking me which girl I liked over and over one day. Finally gave in and mentioned a girl that had always been decent to me, was smart, and worked hard in school. My "friend" laughed so hard and ran off to tell the girl I liked her. The girl I liked screamed and cried for a bit. I spent the rest of the year teased even harder while my "friend" became one of the cool girls.

People suck, it's never been a gendered thing. Later found out the girls had a list of all the boys in the class ranked by hotness, but obviously my experience should be thrown out because something I did made them all act that way...
