Yet when women complain and throw their husbands under the bus, they receive incessant support and pats in the back, men being perceived as controlling tyrants by default, "all marriage is opressive and rape", "marriage is a favour done to men"...yadda yadda yadda.

Even when some comments try to pretend being nuanced and do bring some fair points, iit all quickly devolves into trying to deny male experiences by using experiences that run contrary....almost always by women. Is that sub so minority men, badly modded or are the guys there such weasels they won't dare to bring their own perspectives?

Men do tend to lose a ton in the way of friends and independent hobbies in marriage, if its a trope its because it does often happen, while the equivalent is more rare. Guilty wives gaslighting people to believe the contrary or getting angry/fearful at just the mere prospect of considering that maybe they're insecure and too controlling is another one.

"Men just refuse to do their share of chores even when their wives also work, that's why they use their wives as an excuse"..., the typical gotcha point that often ignores that men tend to have more arduous jobs, spend more time commuting, put more work hours and perform the heaviest/most hazardous chores at home.

I'm in my early 30's and already at the age at which people around me end up surprised or creeped at me telling them I'm not married nor have a girlfriend. I observed them long enough to know that I do not want to negotiate even the most basic things about life like they do, that's why I prefer being left alone. If it works for them, that's fine, I'm just not into olaying such Russian Roulette and find out that you never fully know a person or how they change through life.
