Delurking here, found this sub a couple of months ago. Love all the quality comments and posts you guys give, keep it up. I hope this hasn't been posted here before (did a quick search after finding this posted to /r/thathappened). Sounds like a successful man using logic to defend his reasoning for not wanting to marry a gold digger.

On a side note: watched The Wolf Of Wall Street last night, so this sort of story has been going through my head all today. It was interesting in the movie how the wife's attitude towards her husband (the successful stock broker) changed throughout the movie especially when he started having problems.
