I asked a girl I'm interested in on a date. She said no, but prefaced by saying she potentially is interested and recognizes we have chemistry but doesn't want to be unfair to me because she is still getting over her ex that ended things about 3 weeks prior. She also acknowledged that she isn't asking me to wait for her by any means as that is also unfair to us. I respected her answer, and told her we can be friends.
I am assuming the ball is in her court now to let me know if she is ready to start dating again. My question is what do I do in the meanwhile? I know I should support her, but is flirting with her out of the question now? How should I approach this as more time goes on? How should I behave with her in general? I also know I will continue to talk to other girls in the meanwhile, but I am still interested to see what she does.
