This video came across my feed. As a leftist, I feel like I probably agree with these two on a lot of policies outside of gender. As someone interested in Men's advocacy, it made me gag a little. Sharing here for discussion and to unpack some of my thoughts on this.
Galloway seems to have an seemingly-well intentioned but ultimately regressive view on men. The way he harps on about this being a problem with "young...white...males" rather than really examining what is happening in society (beyond just gesturing impotently at social media) to push men in this direction is pretty gross, especially the notion that men need "guard rails" rather than help.
Tarlov seems to be far more concerned about washing the Left's hands of the suspect, which is also gross. What evidence we do have seems to point out that the kid's politics were ANTIFA which is, let's be honest, left-of-center extremism. To then accuse the right of being "so disappointed" that he wasn't a blue-haired trans communist sounds a lot more like her projecting her disappointment that the kid doesn't really seem to be a MAGA. And sticking your head in the sand like that is a good way to continue giving *actual* MAGAs rhetorical points.
Both of them fail in the final conclusion of the effects of social media in that in neither case is any concern held for men for their own sake. Also a lot of handwashing about how "the effects of social media" includes a lot of negative effects on men FROM THE LEFT.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
