Because they are emotional.

They see a picture of some refugee kid washed up shore and get all emotional except they don't know the kid had an established life in Istanbul, Turkey with money flowing in to support him and his family to support them from Canada. This kid wasn't even a refugee who needed saving anymore he was settled and could survive in turkey the family was just opportunistic.

Most Men would look and be like "eh shit happens"

Because hopping on the clicktavist sympathy bandwagon is a quick way to feel socially validated despite the fact that they're not actually doing anything.

I can't tell you how clogged my Facebook feed is with useless dropout waitresses thinking that they're saving the damn world by sharing a Huffington Post article.
