Lost everything at age 31, now broke and living with parents. What now?

Find house with some room mates.

I got severely disabled at around 33, lost my house 1 of my two cars and two of my three jobs. Ended up going to grad school, taking out some loans, moving on. Did a degree in alt medicine, now I can walk again. Starting to get after it again.

Stay smart, stay focused, stay mentally tough.

If it means anything this exact thing happened to my dad when he was 41 and he bounced back

I feel like that would be playing up to a stereotype though, the expat who couldn't make it so ends up being that weird old white dude playing with underage Thai hookers or something in Southeast Asia. There's certainly no recovery from that and when you're like forty-six trying to come back to the States which you probably will unless you plan to live out the rest of your life abroad-it will be even harder to readjust or find a job back home.

You can still pick yourself off your feet, I mean if you start now and commit a good nine years to recovery you could still be forty and independent again, which is certainly not too old to get married or meet younger women. In the end it's up to you and no it doesn't make you a loser to be still living with your parents, like you said you're past the age where you should be concerned with how you look to people anyway.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea, fresh start, new place, clean your mind of stress, why not? I mean, even if it fails it's not like you'll be in a worse place than now right?

Sometimes a fresh start is something you need to gain some perspective and direction, I'd say go and do it as vacations, clear your mind and then re evaluate.
