Tinder:
Me: SoCal to the Mitten. Seems like you hate nice weather.
Her: Ha no, but I love being near family :)
Me: Luckily there's tiki bars to remind us of warmer times. Are you by <city>?
Her: Like 45 away
Me: <Place, day, time>
Me: Forgot I'll be at <place> on Fri so <closer place>, <city>, same time, same day
Her: Cool
Me: # [Here I was a bit insecure so I wanted to number close as well, but would also like to potentially escalate before ]
No response yet. This annoyed me initially and I asked myself why and realized its because I again place value on myself based on being able to get someone out for drinks.
Rather I should look at it as: I set my frame (confidence, I'm the prize, go for what I want) and maintained focus on my goal: hooking up.
Meeting a friend for drinks in the area anyway, if she doesn't show – no worries, I want to check out this bar scene there anyway. Already setting something up for Sat with a different girl.
Trying to internalize self-worth/self-respect and internalize abundance mentality.
