i do game and apps but I want to diversify my free time by finding ways to meet women organically. I tried both kinds of hobbies (they have similar monthly costs, with salsa being a bit more expensive if u add socials) and here are my observations.

Salsa/bachata: this is what everybody always recommends if you are freshly single however, based on my experience, I'm noticing that you can do well if you're really good at dancing, but that takes ages. The alternative is if you have good conversation during the dance and manage to hit it off with one of the newcomer students, though sometimes they can disappear out of the blue or it just fizzles out. I notice this hobby attracts a very strange kind of demographic of women who LOVE the endless attention they get and wanna be courted forever yet are closed off to trying to take this outside of class via coffe/drinks etc. They'll look at you with puppy eyes like you're the love of their life while dancing, and after it tend to say stuff like "im only here to dance" etc I have mixed conclusions about this one. I do have to recognize that if you put in perhaps a couple months to a year you can get quite good with the steps and have quite a lot of social proof. But this really takes hours and hours spent at expensive salsa/bachata socials, because you can't really practice for free at home. I feel like for what it's worth, I'd rather do night game in bars and pubs, ok you get "rejected" more, but you can land dates quicker arguably. But maybe i was at the wrong salsa school somehow.

Yoga: this is a interesting one, but I have not done it as long as salsa so it's hard to compare. The plus is you are at an insane advantage in terms of gender ratio, but there is 0 communication during the class, everyone is in their own solo bubble. The key is to strike up conversations before or after class, nothing flirty just simple chit chat. I feel like it can definitely lead somewhere, however a lot of them casually name drop their boyfriends/partners etc. Sometimes you do come across one fellow student who seem to be "seeking" for some sort of connection and the conversation will be very nice and free flowing, you can walk with them to the bus/metro station after class while chatting, and you can build great chemistry from going to class together next time. With that hook on a fellow class attendee you'd have more leverage because no one is competing for her attention in the next yoga class, versus salsa where there's always 10 guys who are taller or better at dancing trying to outdo each other just to impress the girl. The bonus with yoga is that, with way less work than salsa, you can become some sort of amateur yoga teacher (even for simple free classes etc) and that can have insane social proof in an of itself.

What are your thoughts / experiences with these hobbies? What would you rather pick and why ie which is more time worthy?
