Hey Guys,
I'm going to be divorcing my wife. I basically woke up from a 5 year stupor where my answer to everything became, yes dear, I'm sorry and don't worry ill just take care of that going forward. I wont go into details but I checked out for years and that's on me. Long story short, we got married and I bought a house in the same 3 mo. period. Not long after she stopped working and I've been doing everything to keep the home clean and our finances a float while my wife blows our money, gaslights me and makes me say sorry for it. So I have a kid and another kid due soon. I really wish I would have woke up to all this a bit later, would make this much less painful.
Oh well I'm here and ready to embrace the suck now that my brain has stopped panicking for an easy exit. That took a long time to chill out from by the way.
Ive been keeping logs and pics of daily life and conflicts in the home for 8 weeks now and plan on doing it for another 5 months before I file. Establishing a record of what's already there, I do all the stuff and handle all the stuff for the kids and pets. Its not that bad I've been doing this for years just sucks when you see it now :(
I have reached out to about 4 lawyers now and am draining myself trying to find even 1 lawyer that feels like they want to advocate for my interests. All I've got so far is
" Us women love money let me tell you so well work to make sure she's happy."
" Oh come on, she cant live off off (wife's yearly income here)"
" I have 6 clients that have 4+ streams of child support, I work with them often ha ha ha"
Seems like everyone is worried about who they are not suppose to be advocating for rather thank the person paying them. Idk maybe I'm off and you guys can put me straight. But I've been lurking and it seems like you guys here are very wary of lawyers and their practices and figured some of you guys may be able to help give me some direction or confidence. Has anyone in Michigan actually found a lawyer who fought for them? What did that look like? not trying to come off bitter just settling into what my role will be for the coming months or so.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
