My background is that I grew up in an extremely religious family and never date during my youth.

As I approach my thirties I want to start dating.

Here’s what I already did: worked on improving my looks. Mainly losing weight, learning what hair style works for me and changing my wardrobe.

I also started working on myself. Basically finding hobbies, solo dates, working to improve my situation. I used to be the type of women who went to work and then went back home. Now it does feel like I’m living and doing something with my life.

I have very few friends and they themselves don’t have a big social circle so I can’t really expect to meet anyone through them.

I’ve tried dating apps but the truth is I’m not good at them.

Sometimes I get approached while I’m out but it’s usually men from my own race/religion and I don’t want that. And I don’t have a problem with race; it’s the culture and religious background I want to avoid.
Or I get approached by older men, which I don’t want. My max is 11 years older than me. But that’s a big stretch. Ideally I would like to meet someone my age of 5/6 years older than me.

What I value the most is honesty, respect and a healthy lifestyle. I also expect someone who will earn the same or more than me and has a similar money mindset.

I think my standards are realistic and I don’t ask for anything I don’t offer.

How would you approach dating? I guess the waisted answer is online dating but it feels like I can’t ever keep a conversation going.

I always get matches but it feels like men are swiping right on everyone but then there isn’t much of a conversation.
