This is a question but let me let you know what happened in my shitty day quick summary. Had a double shift (I work retail and 2 jobs.) It's the holidays and its busy. My old coworker came in with her boyfriend and like another couple etc. She picks a shoe for him. Boom he gets it and because she was my old coworker I didn't really see a problem in giving her the discount. No big shit it's whatever to me. I get eye contact from the kid like he feels threatened and or uncomfortable that I'm a guy and I'm giving his girlfriend a discount FOR HIM. So he doesn't have cash and we only take cash for employee discounts. He then said "I'll pay in total it's fine." I picked up on this and the guy wanted to be difficult and pretend like he's alpha in front of his girlfriend. And I look at him and tell him "You're gonna say $40 just go to the ATM upstairs." He insists and I repeated myself. My old coworker gives him a look and he pretended not to get mad and went and got the money. Me asking this question feels beta enough.
