Just a story I figured you guys may get a kick out of. When it comes to self improvement, one thing that can be observed by others is what kind of car you drive. I had never really owned a nice car so back in October I purchased a 2006 Z4 BMW. Here is a link to the identical twin of my car, paint job and all.

Its a sharp looking car that looks a hell of a lot more expensive than it actually is. Well jump to last night, I was driving home from a date I went on (date went quite well) and its around midnight. I'm sitting at a random intersection with the top down and listening to the radio. Then I hear someone shouting. I turn down my radio and look over and this guy in some random car, maybe a honda or toyota 2 lanes over shouts "Did mommy and daddy buy that car for you?". This caught me completely off guard. Most of the time when people say something about my car it is a compliment. I just shouted back "Nope, shes all mine". Keep in mind, I'm a pretty young looking guy. While I am about to turn 25 in a week here, I could be mistaken for 20. He just shouts back "Yup, Mommy and Daddy must have bought it". The light turns green and we go on our merry way. Eventually I end up getting behind him and then passing him. When I go to pass he yells "Pussy" out his window as I go by. The most interesting thing about this whole interaction is that it did not upset me one bit, I actually took it as a huge compliment. The fact that some guy doesn't believe I am able to afford the nice car that I do really helps put things in perspective. While this guys actions would qualify him as a beta, I was surprised at how he displayed an alpha trait of being so outspoken (a jealous beta with an ego problem maybe?) It was the first time someone talked smack on my car (I can only assume out of jealousy) and I was just surprised by how it made me feel...good.
