I will give it to you straight; I do not have a mission.
I am a 17 y.o and I'm obviously going through puberty - the thing is, it has started to hit me harder and harder. I have no idea where my life is heading.
Shaw says that we don't find ourselves but simply create ourselves. I don't know what kind of person I want to become, I have no idea about my "core values" or don't have any idea of a mission that I want to pursue.
I am able to relate with every side of an ideology or notion or something and just can't put myself in one place among them. I am trying to feel connected to something, to feel somewhere I belong but no, nothing helps. Something might (just might) feel right and what I want to become only when I get very emotional; like the first 15 minutes after watching a very emotional movie etc.
I have just read this comment on a friend's Facebook wall and it TOTALLY resonated with me; "Ayn Rand appeals to disaffected white middle class teenage males. The kind she only had disdain for." - this IS me, sadly. I am a disaffected white middle class teenage male. And this is why I'm writing this here. I have asked many people about the "mission" and read many articles etc, nothing seems to totally resonate with me and makes me excited because there's nothing I believe in in this life. Last sentence might sound depressed but it is not actually, I really do not believe in anything - I think life is simply life, our objective as every human beings and animals and everything is to simply "live" and complete this "period".
Please help me people, I don't really know what to do. Please be as detailed as possible, I appreciate EVERY SINGLE comment you write or anything you do. I am helpless right now.
Thank you so much.
