If you work professionally you know that any productivity increase doesn't effect your total hours worked. I.e if you are employed for 40 hours a week in an office and you find a way of increasing productivity that just means you Get more done in the 40 hours since you work for the full-time regardless and your work is endless.
So a man in 2014 can do a months work of 1940 labour by using a pc and office suit, (number crunching), but his work obviously never ends, i.e his productivity is huge but his total work rate is scaled to the same manner.
If we now look at traditional housekeeping roles, such as cooking cleaning and childcare, there have been productivity increases no question such as the vacuum cleaner, washing machines, supermarkets, microwave, children's tv etc. compared to our 1940s house.
Now unlike an office job, once the floors are clean and the clothes washed and the meals cooked the job is complete there is no continued work.
So with all these technological appliances and labour saving productivity increasing technologies why the hell are women considering themselves martyrs and "i have it so hard" or " being a mom is the hardest job in the world" .
If it were true 1940s housewives could not have existed, since the labour they need to do to get the exact same result (clean clothes, clean floors etc) would be impossible since 2014 housewife thinks they are overworked using 2014 productivity increases.
TL:dr Technology doesn't make the breadwinners job easier because the expectation shifts with his increased productivity, but housewives/husbands have a set target so their life has been getting easier, AND THEY STILL FUCKING COMPLAIN.
Don't let women (or men )pull this martyr shit on you for being a stay at home person, its bullshit.
