Portrayals of hypergamy in fictional media.

Ever since this pandemic started and bars/nightclubs have been shutdown, I've been consuming a lot more media and I've noticed some funny shit. Mainly that fictional TV Show/Movie writers show completely unrealistic portrayals of hypergamy.

Let's take The Flash for example. On this show, after Iris finds out Barry is The Flash, she's still hesitant to start up a relationship with him and still cares and loves for Eddie Thawne, a human with no powers whatsoever.

If a man like The Flash were on Earth... almost every woman in the world would KILL to be with him. Yet in the show, when he finally lands her, they have issues in their relationship from time to time.

Another example. Superman. Lois Lane still prefers to follow her career instead of settling down, giving birth to, and raising Super children.

If you guys ever watch drug trafficking movies, notice how the Colombian drug lord has a completely submissive wife. She never talks back to him or gives him shit tests because she knows he wouldn't put up with that shit and might even have her killed. Now that is an accurate portrayal of how a woman behaves with a man that has real power. And they're usually written accurately because that shit actually goes on in the world.

Yet, when it comes to fictional media like superheroes, these guys get treated like betas by the writers. You have Peter Parker groveling and trying to apologize to Mary Jane for trying to save motherfuckers from a mugging. You get Lois Lane complaining to Clark about not spending enough time with her and not spending so much time trying to stop planes from crashing.

It's ridiculous and if powers were ever a real thing, women would not violate their own hypergamy.

Women are the counterweight to a man's power/potential. At least that's what sprung into mind while i was reading OP. There absolutely HAS to be rhyme and reason behind why men need to constantly be 'beta-tized' by every single force in the universe, but most evidently, every single female figure in their lives. I think there is a prominent 'dominance hierarchy' within the woman's genre/world, and that is how much a woman can influence the decision making of a powerful man. Maybe this is just another way by nature to ensure the most powerful men in the universe don't just take over the World and bend it to their will until they eventually start fighting each other for the throne, which could potentially push the entire species into oblivion. The same way women get spoiled rotten because men give them all the power to do or get whatever they want w/o consequences/accountability, in similar fashion, i believe the same can and will happen to men if women caved completely into their 'alphaness' and obeyed every single thing they demanded. There needs to be some sort of balance of power, a push and tug, otherwise we stray to far into degeneracy.

So yeah, that's why i think this concept is so strong, not only in fiction, but generally in real life. Women love a powerful man, but they 'beta-tize' him in order to influence HOW/WHEN/WHERE his power is going, to ensure it's not only going directly for his own personal benefit. It's all part of the game, and also, weirdly enough, a subgenre of high level game, imo, because imagine if you are Clark Kent or Peter Parker. You basically can fuck and manipulate an ample amount of hot & dumb bimbos to do your every bidding... but at a certain point, i gotta think it loses the allure... you're just not stimulating yourself above getting your dick wet, or even worse, potentially you end up hurting yourself trying to deal with this degenerate shit constantly, when your focus could actually be honed into building a better future (both for yourself, your kids, your tribe)... So yeah, maybe when you get tired of having minion bimbos running around salivating at your every move like brainless zombies, maybe then someone like Mary Jane makes sense... She unnecessarily difficult to fuck and impossible to please, but at least she makes you aware that there are other things on this planet beside you and your dick... and maybe, just maybe you should take some time and power out of your schedule to make sure those aren't collapsing, because that wouldn't be good for the future of the species. Despite the fact the both Spidey and Superman LITERALLY dedicate their entire livelihood into saving everyone else and putting themselves at risk, Lois and Mary are still bitching... But if they don't bitch, perhaps their ego gets too big, and they start slacking off...

I think women try to beta-ize men because if they don’t their child could risk not having a father which would make her state of vulnerability during pregnancy, useless. It’s taxing on her looks and all that too. She gets knocked up and a high testosterone male who has a fuck ton of options doesn’t give a fuck. It’s a paradox, life pretty much is a paradox if you think about it. An example: we’ve grown as a society. Which is our prerogative from the get to. Spread, multiply. But we’ve done so to such an extent that there are almost to many of us; the atmosphere is suffering and we’ve made so many animals extinct because man kind has already distrusted the balance. But that’s not a bad thing, it’s easier to not think about. Beyond the guise of society, we are animals with an instinct and nature much like sexuality is amoral.

Men can bring power; which ensures the survival of the female gene. But her hamster will spin just like a man will lust after a younger chick. It’s inevitable, human nature. Women will crave more and more better and better. So will men, this is human nature “Greed” as it’s commonly referred. It’s prevalent throughout so many species. My dog would literally eat itself to death if it could. An ape would remain alpha and fuck all the bitches he could. He has a harem of children along with his she-apes. But he’ll eventually be challenged and will fight to the death. Or risk becoming unattractive because he can’t provide the way he could in the past. It’s almost like the women are aware that he cannot last. So they’re desire will simmer and eventually burn until someone new comes along. But she’ll be used up at this point, so they cash in their chips and settle. Alphas are left and right in the human world. Just like the new iPhone, you gotta try it out or you’re at least fucking tempted. Do I spend or save...balance is best; but nowadays there is rarely balance because we have too much of everything. (I could be wrong) or atleast some parts of the world. Like a dog we’ll eat ourselves to death.

Women's value decreases over time, so she can not infinitely mon(k)ey branch to the 'new iPhone', despite how tempted she is. Some part of her evolutionary brain will realize at some point, that if she doesn't lock down and stick with her best option, every following branch she swings to will be thinner and thinner until one potentially breaks entirely and he hits rock bottom. This is where men hold the power long term if they know what they're doing.

Problem is in when you play the long game, a lot of what is coming through the pipeline is straight trash you wouldn't even fuck, much less spend time with, even less start a family with... So you start dialing the age filter back, but the more you go towards 20, the more bargaining power/freedom women have (as well as potential risk to monkey branch, as previously discussed) while also having more male competition...

I think the current landscape is better to get your dick wet and get back to doing whatever you actually want to do (which for most people is being a degenerate consumer). Everything else is worse, so overall, i don't think it's sustainable.
