How can I (27F) keep my fiancé (32M) and is it even in his best interest?
I 27F love my fiancé 32M to the ends of the earth. He is alpha through and through. When he is in a room with other men, they defer to him. He is incredibly funny, dependable, handsome, and unassumingly smart. He has an engineer brain and can solve any problem. I respect and admire him. We are both atheists, and share similar libertarian values. We like to do adventurous things together. We met and started dating 5 years ago. Just recently engaged.
As for myself, I am pretty and petite but also hyper aware of the fact that looks will not last and that already, there are women much prettier and younger than I. I eat healthy foods and love to run (have done a few marathons)and to backpack. (As in scaling mountains not traveling) I don’t have tattoos or piercings.
My dad always taught me to “make myself useful” and not just to occupy empty space. I’m hard working and always willing to learn. I graduated from a top-30 university and am now a teacher. I will be debt free in 2019 thanks in part to scholarships, but primarily to the fact that I live below my means. I budget and I don’t desire expensive things.
My mom taught me to dress as a woman without being revealing. She warned me that the “power” that some young girls experience by using their sexuality is not real power at all, and that it eventually disappears. She cherishes my dad and uplifts him. She is his biggest fan and he’s her hype man.
My parents have been married for 30 years. In them, I thought I saw an example of a mutually beneficial long-term partnership of equals. I want to know— under trp philosophy is this even possible?
As a woman I feel misguided by popular culture which always wants you to feel like your man isn’t doing enough and that any woman who worships her man is abused or emotionally controlled while worship in the opposite direction is a prerequisite. I love men and I feel they are under attack. Women need good men but they drive them away with their demands, failing to realize they have no bargaining power. I say “they” because I’d like to think I am cognizant of what I can offer and of what my alpha fiancé can easily get were I to take him for granted. Women would kill to sleep next to him each night. I know picky single women are touted as “bad bitches” in today’s society and given attention and likes, but I’m not stupid enough to believe the farce. It is so easy to see how lonely that life is and the attempt to sell us failure as something to be celebrated is frustrating. Women want to know where the good men are but they are not good women themselves.
There is much in this forum that I believe is the truth that no one wants to recognize, that has somehow become politically incorrect. I’m seeking clarification, especially because of what that clarification could mean for my personal life. Apologies in advance for my limited understanding. everything I’ve read in this subreddit, I’ve found to be extremely enlightening and refreshing. I am willing to learn if anyone is willing to work with me here. I am curious where I can fit in, if anywhere.
My question is this: is there any value a good woman can bring long term to an alpha? Is there any value for men (or women) in having children and a family under trp philosophy? My fiancé wants to be married to me and have a child. I love this man and selfishly, I want to have him in my life forever and ever until we’re old and grey. He always says “that’s why we’re a great fucking team” and I believed this to be true. I believe it is my privilege to take care of him emotionally, sexually, to keep his belly full and rub his back after a long day of work. In turn, he makes me laugh endlessly, protects me, and opens all the jars in the house. I have not been approached by a man in 5 years because I have my fiancé. Men respect men. I don’t take for granted the peace and security he brings to my life. Men are simple in the most beautiful way and good men are true angels in our lives, maybe better than we women today deserve.
Especially, as I get older and my sexual value drops, I wonder whether I can offer him anything close to what he can offer me. I’ve read the sidebars and agree very much that the state of marriage today is far more beneficial to women and far more precarious for men to enter. As neither of us are religious, the primary purpose of marriage would be first, to agree to stay together to make a family. We both firmly bemoan how loose our current culture is in regard to “blended” families and single moms. In my mind, priority should be the child you agreed to create together.
But are marriage or kids in the best interest of his happiness? How can a woman even love a man properly in TRP? How can I help him to be happy and is it at all aligned with my own happiness or are they always mutually exclusive? That’s the part I can’t understand. I’d like to believe there is a scenario in which both interests align and a mutually beneficial happiness CAN exist, however rare or hard to keep.
I read in one of the sidebar articles, “Patriarchy works because it induces men and women to cooperate under their complementary strengths”. Have feminists destroyed the patriarchy so completely that women grateful to subscribe to it are now S.OL.? Is there any hope and if so plz just tell me what to do to keep this man. Is there any hope at all
Thank you in advance for any advice or clarification.
TL; DR as my sexual value decreases do I even have enough to offer my alpha man or is he better off without me?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
