I’m almost 30 and have been in and out of LTRs since I was 17. My last three relationships were four, three, and three years respectively. Each time one ended, I already had the next one lined up in some capacity; therefore, I’ve never actually been 100% single in roughly ten years. My most recent relationship ended only a week ago and I’m having mixed emotions.

Getting back into the game is nerve wracking. Normally, I can talk to anyone, but now that I’m single I freeze up and talk myself out of approaching girls. I’m constantly second guessing things like what to say, both in person and via text. For example, just today I unintentionally slid into a girl’s DMs on IG and have no idea how to continue when she’s clearly giving me the green light. I’ve never spoken to her before, but I know one of her friends. Today, a buddy and I were contemplating going to this street fair in the city, so when I saw this girl had posted a picture on her story at the fair, I sent her a message saying we had a mutual friend and I was wondering how the fair was. I honestly had no other intentions other than to find out if it was worth going to this event. She said it wasn’t that busy, but the food was good. Not knowing what we should do, I asked her if she had any suggestions since we don’t normally go out in the city. She rattled off a few suggestions and I simply thanked her and told her to tell our mutual friend I said hello. Long story short she ends up messaging me at 11:30 PM and asks “where did you end up?”. Now, I may have been living under the relationship rock for ten years, but I’m pretty sure her asking that is a good sign, no? Well, I told her we ended up going out back in our hometown and now I’m trying to figure out how to turn this into my first successful plate (is that the lingo around here?!).

Anyways, thanks for having me guys. I look forward to taking TRP and learning from this community.
