Let me preface this post that I used to not be this anti-social. I used to walk around my city have 5 people's houses I could crash at anytime I wanted, people would hoot and yell at me to hangout anywhere I went. I was socially calibrated and had a wide social circle.
Well then my vision took a fast one on me, couldn't see enough to walk in my parent's house or even find food in the fridge. The cheese looked like a yellow fuzzy blob. I remember my mom yelling for me in the living room. I'd be standing in the doorway and scanning looking for her on the only green couch we had.
Fast forward 2 years and I still can't get myself moved forward. I moved myself into my own apartment in a college town of like 20k people. I have a few new friends that I'm solid with. I'm still not to where I can just walk up to people and have a conversation with.
I don't know if I'm scared to talk to people or what it is. I'm by no means the prettiest guy on the block but I can hold eye contact to some extent now. The vision issues forced me to relearn eye contact.
What I'm asking is, how can I push myself to be more socially open and get over this hump in my life?
there doesn't seem to be anything here
