Story of the first 20 years of my life man. You need to flirt yourself, and DISTINCLY differentiate your flirting from friendliness, and see how they respond. It's difficult because most transitioning guys do the friendly casual flirt, and not the overt i want to fuck you flirt, so their response is 100x more ambigous. You are displaying ambigous intentions, so they naturally are even more ambigous in return. Men do tend to see ambigous behavior as flirty, and women tend to see it as friendly (i believe this is from the strong alpha's setting a firm standard of what flirting is, and most men's style is far below this, leading to ambiguity). Up the ante and see what they do.
