To a large extent I wanna say it's what you make of it man. Like you'll still have ups and downs, maybe you'll need to step out of your comfort zone a bit more to find people to truly connect with outside of the academic environment, time will pass and people will continue growing old(er)... I'm not sure what to tell you but I feel like I'm in a similar situation. I'm a couple years out of school, wanna go back to school and get a career off the ground, support myself and my hobbies/passions, trying to figure out how to give my life meaning and live a productive life but often failing cause I'm one nihilistic dude.
We all want to live life on our terms, but the cost of freedom is always high. Be there for your friends if necessary and especially for you family, but recognize the things you can't change, accept them, and try to make peace with them. As long as you have stable income and insurance the bare minimum is covered. Be thankful for that. Next it's just up to you to define and give meaning to your life man. You didn't mention fitness. If you're not doing so already, I'd recommend you start lifting or some form of regular exercise. Going to the gym changed my whole outlook on life. Exercise is good therapy for your mind, not only for you body. I hope this helps. Keep going man, every moment's an experience.

it's what you make of it man.
My old man used to say this all the time. If you think it sucks, it will. If you think it is the greatest thing ever, it is.
it's just up to you to define and give meaning to your life man.
Agree 100%.

You have no idea how much I need to remind myself on the regular to strive to make it significant. Again, I'm one nihilistic bastard, and it's so easy to think it's all pointless cause we're just a speck in space. But as soon as I pick up a weight, I find meaning in improving my strength. As soon as I pick up a book, I find meaning in gaining knowledge. It's all a struggle, but it's better to struggle and then be rewarded with results than to not do anything and stay in limbo. Get some goals, and get busy reaching them.

everything is impermanence. remember that, and remember that, yes, life is a downward spiral toward the void. but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it!
so you like hanging with your friends, and your family, but you're scared that with adulthood everyone's gonna leave you alone to live a sad, adult life. the thing is, you can do whatever you want with your life. don't like your job, get another one! and if money isn't a problem for you, make it a game!! start a business, a hobby, some kind of project that can make you more money, and also if it's a collaborative project you can still have friends and family in close proximity.
i'm young too (24) but i know that college life doesn't have to be the 'peak' for any man. keep your head up and focused OP.
