What is TRP's opinion on racism, culture and conflict?

One has to wonder if the American Indians wished they had sunken down European ships from the sea before we had a chance to colonize America...

If they did would they have been wrong?

Personally at work I love dealing with most immigrants, because they are some of the most gracious and humble people you will ever meet. They come here for the American dream.

But what if instead of wanting to assimilate and become American/german etc, not just for a better life, but genuinely believing with conviction that their people and their culture and their God is superior and their holy laws are above your laws... even if it's only a minority of the people you are taking in? What happens when that minority within the minority reaches critical mass?

I would love to believe that all people can live together and are fundamentally good, yet at the same time I don't go around picking up hitch-hikers, donating money to every poor person on the street, adopting kids/pets I can't afford, lending out my spare bedroom to strangers etc. At some point altruism takes a backseat to my personal well-being, my family, kids etc.

America is built upon immigrants but to be honest if you give me a choice between accepting immigrant Christians from east Asia vs immigrants muslims from name your random islamic country under turmoil... for me it's an easy decision who I would choose.

Islamic Fundamentalism trumps all wishful thinking of multiculturalism. Of course there will be the argument"not all Muslims are like that" but even the moderate muslim is not really accepted because of the values they have in a free society. Eg.. Arranged marriages, The infantilization of their females with Hijabs and bee keeper outfits.

It's not so much the problem of culture, as it is of religion. It has always been thus. Muslims as a culture are the same as any other culture. They want a good life for themselves and their kids. They want good neighbors and good schools and productive jobs for themselves and their families.

Same with Christians and Jews. The only differences are when you factor in the religious views and interpretations of their "holy books".

Muslims, Christians and Jews all believe in THE SAME GOD. The one god that created all life, heaven and hell. From there it diverges into sects. These sects have their own customs, beliefs and structures. To eliminate the problems we would have to eliminate the religious differences.... or just eliminate religion itself.
