Your friend is telling you to not worry about something you can't change. Sure, you could get leg lengthening but what if the surgery gets botched? I don't think it's worth the risk and I'm 100% sure you have other things to offer other than height.

He answered in terms of your own question. "You want X to give Y, you will never have X so you will never have Y".

He didn't mean you can't be attractive, and even if he did mean that it's not true.

Just focus on shorter women. Plenty of women around 5' that you are taller than.
