This is just one of the many parallels from situations in my own life that triggered my absolute abandonment of the "punk rock" scene I used to be pretty into in the late 90s to early 2000s.

It's not necessarily that punk "changed" so much as I realized it's a fucking fashion and social dog-and-pony show. Even in my 30s, I see people I knew half a lifetime ago still dressing in rags and crashing from couch to couch not because they can't make anything better of themselves, but because they're so fucking worried about making appearances to the scene and staying "genuine" to the impressionable kids.

Fuck these people. ..they're beyond help

Like all good things started by men, it was infiltrated and ruined by women.
