Recently there has been a new addition to my social group. One of my buddies, which i consider a close friend, got a new roommate; a female roommate. She has been out with him to several of our hang outs. She is a HB7. The group is composed of mostly nerdy friends. By that I mean that we all enjoy some anime, comics and a chill sat night is some drinks playing mario kart. However, we also all workout, run competitive events, play in a basketball league and all have high earning jobs. In fact I used to be the only overweight one.
So this sets up the setting. This new roommate of my friend has been dropping IOIs. These include me catching her staring at me multiple times, acting really nervous when I come around, and not holding eye contact at all(I've found that with nerdy/shy girls this is the equivalent of holding too much eye contact?) I was adding this other girl I met to fb and decided to add her. She liked my profile picture and wrote on my wall about how much she enjoyed seeing me the other night at a hangout; I barely even talked to her lol. So alright game on.
Now as far as I know my friend and his roommate have been friends since highschool(8 years or so) I can't quite remember if they dated at some point or not. From her FB pictures with him he is friend zoned completely. My problem is if it is a two sided friend thing or if she is my buddy's oneitis. I want to point out that my friend is pretty BP. When he first mentioned that his new roommate was moving from back home and was a female, he said they were only friends. When I said "Yea for now" suggestively, he didn't seem to like the idea.
Anyway my point to all this is that I value his friendship. He may be beta with women but outside of the occasional nerdy beta things we do, we usually do alpha activities. What would be the best way to confirm that he would have no problem with me pursuing something with his roommate; even if it only goes as far as a 1 on 1 coffee date. I'm afraid that if he has oneitis, then he wouldn't like it. I'd rather keep a friend than get a lay. Any suggestions?
