I've see fat acceptance more and more in real life where it used to only be a concept on the internet. 30% of the population is obese, and that number is growing. But now the last bastion of female beauty is being overrun, the music industry. It's one thing for Adele to be a pop star, she is amazingly talented. But Mary Lambert is hideous and sucks as a musician.

Even now there's an entire new genre on youtube which is featuring fat women in the videos.

Lets look at the lyrics of her video:

  • "I've got bi-polar disorder"
  • "I'm overweight, I'm always late"
  • "I've got too many things to say"
  • "I rock mom jeans"

Followed by a hook that basically says, "Don't be ashamed that you suck at life, you're already awesome."

And there we have it. This is the message that is subliminally being bombarded into peoples mind 5 times a day on the radio.
