I've come to realize (thanks to my public speaking class of all things) that I'm not very clear when it comes to my objective - at least in certain parts of life.

In my career, I have a pretty solid idea of what I'm doing and where I'm going, though I am still young. I have fantastic mentors that help me out here though.

With girls - different story. I find myself wandering a lot. What I mean by this is I don't often get to the point, or be particularly firm.

I realized this in my public speaking class because, even though I'm a superb public speaker, I constantly get downgraded for lacking thesis-centeredness.

So my point here is: how can I better understand my objectives and also share them with the world (coworkers, friends, women, etc)?

edit: here's some additional information that may or may not help.

Had a conversation with a chick over text about a speech i'm writing. here's how it went:

me: hey i'm writing a speech on purpose. i was wondering if you could take a look since you're the expert on this. are you free this afternoon?

her: i'd love to but i'm in class all afternoon.

her: what about tomorrow?

me: ok. done with class at noon. need to be back to work by 5.

never got anything back after that. i asked her in the first place because, while i don't think i actually need help writing my speech, it was a good opportunity to connect on something she likes (helping people find their purpose).
