Hello MRPs!
I wanted to share a woman's perspective of being married to a RP (although I never knew there was a label for it). If this isn't welcome here, that's fine just let me know. And of course this is a throwaway due to my family knowing my permanent username. I'd like to avoid the shitstorm I'd hear from my dipshit sister about how I'm living a sheltered life, and husband is controlling me, etc.
A brief backstory about our successful relationship. I met my husband when we were 16 in high school. We dated through junior and senior years. We were both virgins, and shared the same ideology about saving oneself for marriage. He proposed about 4 months before graduation, but I was leery to accept off the bat due to him having recently told me that I would have to submit if I wanted to be his wife. I was young, and didn't fully grasp the concept he was trying to relay to me. I came from divorced parents, and he came from parents who like us, married at 18 and still are.
He told me that as soon as he got a job in the field he wanted that I would stay at home (just like his mother btw). I was fine with that part, I always wanted my mother to be with me growing up instead of at work.
My husband is the breadwinner, and has been since we had children. I lovingly call him an asshole sometimes, but it's natural ability to take command of any situation that constantly leaves me in awe of him daily. I don't take him for granted, nor have I ever (nor wanted to) pull the divorce card out on him. I think a lot of the personal stories I've read on here are heartbreaking to me, because I know as a woman that it is possible to have what you all are striving for without all the grief that's involved. My husband told me straight up his ground rules for us to maintain a happy, healthy marriage BEFORE we got married, and I wholeheartedly agreed, or else I wouldn't have married. The rules were/are:
-
I must submit to him and trust his judgment. ( which sounds so horrible to many women I'm sure)
-
If I get to a weight of 150 lbs, he would fall out of love with me, due to the fact that I no longer respected myself enough to be healthy. My starting weight when he said this was 100 lbs so he was being quite generous for a 5' 95-100 lb girl.
-
When we had children, I would leave any career I had behind, and be a proper mother who stays at home to raise the children.
And those three rules were the foundation for us to have a happy marriage. They worked for me immensely. As a result, my husband is a great father, wonderful husband, etc. that gets all the head he could possibly want, great sex, and the best part is that we're still in love after 15+ years of being together with no end in sight.
Now to what I think what's gone wrong with American family units as of the last 40 years or so. The problem is the 'feminist' bullshit us women have had forced down our throats to the point that we actually think we can survive this shithole of a world without love, protection, and support of a man to guide us. I was brought up being told that whatever us girls set our minds to we can achieve. Well, I for one know that's bullshit spewed from dried up old cunts that are trying to make their miserable lives meaningful by spreading the word to women however they can so that when they die alone at 80 in a nursing home with just nieces and nephews occasionally visiting it wasn't all for nothing.
So, long story short, and I'm not being facetious here, is I think that if you men do not speak up before marriage (I don't think that men can follow RP thought without marrying your partner. Goes back to how can anyone complain that women have gotten a little too full of themselves, and wanting to go back to Ward and June Cleaver days without understanding that it was not socially acceptable to co-habitate to live with a woman, and knock her up. You just didn't do that shit) it's going to be a hard row to hoe, and probably not going to work out in the long run.
Also, you shouldn't have to always be on guard to deal with shit tests. If you're the strong man you should be/strive to be that your responses should come naturally. That's what I love about my husband. He's a straight shooter who's always know what he wanted in his life, and went for it without regret.
I would love America to revert to the good ole days of yesteryear where women had no place in the workforce, and raised children the right way, but I know it won't happen in my lifetime. If anyone wants to ask questions, I'd gladly give some answers from my experience to help you guys out.
