I'm in a LTR since over a year. Surprisingly, it's always been a smooth ride. She cares for me, religiously brings me food to work when i'm on-call, the sex has been great and gotta admit, she's been supportive even if i sometimes don't treat her quite as she deserves.
Today she had an important test that would decide whether she graduated college this month or not. She barely passed and went celebrate with her fellow students at around 5 pm, right after the test results were given in. She sent me a text sharing the happiness, telling me about her plan with her friends, and telling me that she wanted me to pick her up "before 7 pm" so we would go and have a little celebration of our own.
She wrote at around 8:30pm, saying it got late but that she was ready for me to go pick her up. I told her, as lovingly as i could, that we'd have to do it some other day. To be more precise, i told her that given her unfulfillement of the agreement, i went do something else (went eat a pizza with a neighbour and indeed uploaded some pictures of it to my whatsapp status).
She wasn't angry, just sad and apologetic. This was yesterday, today we've chatted and things are pretty much back to normal.
I just wonder, though: Was that just a dick-move on my part? Yeah, she wrote later than agreed, but not that late, and i guess it was a special day for her.
Or was i right?
To be honest, i wouldn't have minded going to pick her up, and i wasn't truly upset or anything, but i guess i just wanted to make a point. What do you think? Maybe that was a bit unnecessary, seeing i just "acted" as if i cared about the mild lateness.
Cheers!
