Like him or not, Trump seemed to transcend the label of Republican or Democrat since he was, in the history of politics a completely unique candidate. A president is often viewed as being synonymous with leading the country (even if that's not exactly in line with the intricacies of how policies are passed) meanwhile a politician such as a governor or senator is more viewed as a team player. I can't imagine him garnering many votes in any other role other than the presidential one. Do you think if he applied for the lower ranked political roles, he would have quickly been dismissed compared to that of applying for the presidential role?
