1 happens when you can't take a hint and keep texting/calling after some combination of 2 and 3. Before you get to 2 and 3, they start acting differently when you are with them, often in subtle ways at first. When you get better at recognizing various behaviors, you can soft next when you see ominous signs, and avoid getting to 1-3. A big part of RP is learning to recognize lack of interest early on and avoid wasting your time. When you signs of lack of interest, stop contacting them, and if they don't initiate, you'll confirm you were right and can move on.
